Intel announced the new eight-generation processor, and said it will bring improvements to double the speed of performance compared to laptop computers over 5 years, and about 40% compared to the devices that come in the current generation 7.
According to Intel, there will be two types of eight-generation processors: the first will keep the name of the seventh generation, Kaby Lake, and will be designed for light and high-performance devices such as the netbook and devices 2 × 1, while the second type is called Kaby Lake R.
The processors come in the same size as the previous generation, 14 nm, and use 10 nm by 2018. Intel expects to launch the next generation of the Core i7 and Core i5 processors for the desktop by the end of 2017, while the laptop processors will arrive in early 2018.
If the eighth generation carries the same code name, and it will come in the same size, what about performance improvements?
Less power consumption, 4K video can be played up to 10 hours
Editing images and creating a slideshow will be faster by up to 48% compared to the 7th generation
Video editing will be 14.7% faster than the seventh trick
Support greater content for integrated device graphics with both virtual reality and enhanced technologies
Faster response to Windows Ink when using touchscreen pens
Support 4K resolution for three external monitors working at the same time
Intel is also working to make the next generation of processors more suitable for viewing, shooting and editing video content with 4K resolution and 360 degree video, and better adapting to the development of enhanced virtual reality devices.
