Microsoft Announces End of Windows 10 Free Upgrades

Microsoft has announced that users of Windows 7 and Windows 8 will receive a free upgrade to the new version of Windows 10 on a free upgrade. The company said on a technical support page that there is a specific date for the upgrade offer to upgrade to the latest An operational system at no cost, which is 31 December 2017.

The announcement came after Microsoft provided the latest version of its operating system called Windows 10 free of charge for users of previous versions of their systems Windows 7 and Windows 8 for more than a year, and helped the gap that previously appeared to extend the time frame from the month of July so far .

The company had technically terminated the free upgrade program to Windows 10 on July 29, 2016, but provided an exception for those using accessibility features such as Braille screens, screen readers and other additional assistance.

The intention was to allow those users using a previous Windows-certified version to have more time for the next access features to be able to handle the new operating system, but there was no specific deadline for the upgrade under these circumstances.

This helped anyone using Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 to activate Microsoft's free access and approval features to upgrade the system without any problems. This seems to be nearing completion and less than two months after the end of the time limit During which they can get the upgrade free of charge even for users of technical assistive devices.

This announcement is unlikely to affect the deployment of the operating system, especially after a long period of free upgrade, but it is considered an important milestone by representing the official end of the company's attempts to update and standardize the Windows operating system user base by removing Price barrier, where Windows 10 adoption was fast enough during the free upgrade.

Market research firm NetMarketShare reported a 10% rise in market share of Windows 10 for the PC market from 9% in November 2015 to 29.3% in October 2017, but Windows 7 remains the dominant 46.6% By less than 10% during that period.
